Consultation on Proposed Expansion of Penn Hall School
We are writing to inform you that Penn Hall School, part of Amethyst Academies Trust, is proposing to increase its pupil capacity by 15 additional places from September 2025. We are seeking your views as part of our formal consultation process.
Penn Hall School currently provides specialist education for children and young people with complex special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). Since our conversion to academy status in November 2022, demand for places has steadily increased. To meet the needs of more children requiring our unique provision, we are proposing this expansion which will allow us to continue delivering high-quality, inclusive education for pupils with severe and complex needs.
Why We Are Proposing This Change:
- To meet growing local demand for specialist SEND provision in Wolverhampton and surrounding areas.
- To enable more children with complex needs to be educated closer to home.
- To maintain and enhance the quality, breadth, and inclusivity of our educational offer.
The proposed expansion will be supported by investment in staffing, resources, and facilities to ensure that standards remain high and that all pupils continue to receive the personalised support that Penn Hall is known for.
Consultation Process
We are keen to hear the views of parents, carers, staff, local schools, the local authority, and other stakeholders on this proposal. Parents will be receiving a letter with an attached form that can be returned to reception to share their views. The consultation period will run from 10th July 2025 to 12th September 2025.
